Waminda is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) Case Worker to join our Case Management team.

This role supports Aboriginal women and their children who are experiencing or recovering from family and domestic violence to remain safely in their homes, or a home of their choice. Working within Waminda’s culturally grounded Model of Care, you will provide trauma-informed, strengths-based case management that promotes safety, healing, empowerment and self-determination.

You will work alongside women throughout their healing journey, providing practical support, advocacy, safety planning, referrals and coordinated care that helps build long-term safety and wellbeing.

About the Role

As a SHLV Case Worker, you will:

- Deliver high-quality, culturally safe case management to women and families impacted by family and domestic violence.
- Conduct holistic assessments and collaboratively develop strengths-based case plans that support client goals and safety.
- Undertake safety planning and provide practical and emotional support to women and children.
- Provide advocacy and referrals across housing, legal, health, education, financial, counselling and community support services.
- Assist clients to navigate complex service systems, appointments, meetings and legal processes.
- Provide outreach and community-based support to ensure services are accessible and responsive to client needs.
- Attend court and support women through legal and justice processes when required.
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams and external service providers to deliver coordinated,



wraparound support.
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely case notes and records in line with legislative and funding requirements.

About You

You are an empathetic and resilient professional who is passionate about supporting women and children to live free from violence.

You will bring

- Experience in case management, family and domestic violence services, community services, social work, housing, justice, health or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience supporting women, children and families experiencing vulnerability, trauma or complex needs.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive practice.
- Excellent communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A commitment to professional integrity, confidentiality and continuous learning.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate IV or higher qualification in Community Services, Case Management, Social Work or a related field (or willingness to work towards).
- Current NSW Driver Licence.
- National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain and maintain).
- Understanding of duty of care, safeguarding responsibilities and mandatory reporting obligations.
