Role Description The Cellar Door Casual role is a part-time, in office position based at the First Creek Wines cellar door in Pokolbin, NSW. This role focuses on delivering engaging and informative wine-tasting experiences, welcoming guests, and providing exceptional customer service. Key tasks include presenting wine flights, sharing the stories and features of the wines and winery, answering visitor questions, and assisting guests with purchases and packaging.

The role also involves managing point-of-sale transactions,



maintaining a clean and inviting cellar door environment, restocking shelves, and supporting events or group tastings as needed. Team members collaborate closely with the cellar door and winemaking team, acting as ambassadors for the First Creek brand and ensuring every visitor leaves with a positive, memorable experience.

Qualifications

- Strong customer service and hospitality skills, with the ability to create a welcoming and engaging experience for diverse visitors.
- Wine knowledge or a keen interest in learning about varietals, regions, and production techniques, preferably with experience in cellar door or retail wine sales.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal presentation and active listening.
- Point-of-sale, cash handling, and basic computer skills for processing transactions and managing bookings.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move wine cartons, and maintain a tidy, safe service area.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, public holidays, and occasional evening events.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification for NSW, or willingness to obtain before commencing.
- Reliable transport to Pokolbin and a professional, team-oriented attitude aligned with First Creek’s standards of service and quality.
