Arekai Imaging is seeking a Clinical Densitometrist / DEXA Clinician to join our South Yarra practice.

Arekai is a specialist DEXA imaging practice focused on bone density and advanced body composition assessment, using GE Lunar iDXA technology.

We’re looking for an experienced clinician with a strong interest in DEXA and a high level of attention to technical accuracy and consistency. Existing ANZBMS Clinical Densitometrist certification is highly regarded, however we are also open to clinicians with the appropriate background who are eligible to undertake the certification pathway.

The role is an independent contractor position, initially comprising approximately two service sessions per week, with flexibility around scheduling.

The role

- Perform DEXA bone mineral density assessments using GE Lunar iDXA
- Perform DEXA body composition scanning and analysis
- Provide body composition consultations where applicable
- Work within established acquisition, analysis, quality assurance and reporting protocols
- Maintain a high standard of positioning, analysis accuracy and scan-to-scan consistency
- Liaise with referring practitioners and specialist partners where required

About you
- ANZBMS Clinical Densitometrist certification highly regarded; otherwise, applicants must be eligible to undertake the certification pathway




- Previous DEXA experience highly regarded
- Appropriate clinical background and experience
- Strong attention to technical accuracy, positioning and analysis
- Comfortable working autonomously once appropriately trained and assessed as competent
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to patient care
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance

The engagement
- Independent contractor arrangement (ABN required)
- Session-based professional fees
- Initially approximately two service sessions per week, likely comprising one weekday and one weekend session
- Flexibility around the specific days and session times
- Opportunity to increase the number of sessions over time

Arekai places a strong emphasis on scan quality, reproducibility and clinically helpful reporting. The position provides an opportunity for an experienced densitometrist, or an appropriately qualified clinician looking to develop specialist expertise in DEXA, to work within a dedicated DEXA service.
