We’re looking for a Commercial & Contracts Administration Officer to play a key role in supporting our commercial, procurement and contracts activities. This is an opportunity to work closely with operational and commercial teams, build strong supplier relationships and contribute to effective contract management, governance and reporting across the business.
Ensham Resources is an owner-operated coal mining operation in Central Queensland, managed by South African energy company Thungela.
Our operation includes a productive underground bord and pillar mine and a large-scale rehabilitation project, producing approximately four million tonnes annually.

How you will contribute:
The business requires an experienced administration professional to provide high-level administrative and commercial support across the Procurement & Contracts and Commercial functions. Reporting to the Procurement & Contracts Superintendent, this role will support effective contract administration, procurement processes, contractor management and SAP transactions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to the Procurement & Contracts Superintendent, including document management, filing,
registers and maintenance of Contract Works data.
- Manage sole source and vendor setup documentation and assist with procurement guideline compliance reviews.
- Coordinate contractor insurance documentation and support contract administration requirements.
- Review and process contractor invoices, including major spend contractors, and assist with reconciliation of contractor labour and associated contract costs.
- Monitor and manage the contracts administration inbox and ensure requests are actioned in a timely manner.
- Coordinate monthly contractor meetings, including preparation of documentation and distribution of meeting minutes.
- Monitor and process purchase orders and invoices across the Commercial and Open Cut departments, managing the purchasing process from requisition through to service entry and payment workflow.
- Provide Purchasing Officer coverage as required, including procurement of goods and services, fuel management, asset tracking and SAP processing.
- Provide general administrative and operational support across the Commercial function and assist with ad hoc business requirements as required.
What we’re looking for: You are an organised and proactive administration professional who takes pride in accuracy, delivering quality outcomes and providing excellent support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Business Administration qualification or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant administration experience, preferably within a mining, commercial, procurement or contracts environment.
- Strong SAP skills and demonstrated experience using SAP for purchasing, purchase orders, service entry, invoice processing, work orders and related transactions.
- High level of computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office and Excel, with solid data entry and document management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience supporting procurement, contracts, commercial or contractor management functions will be highly regarded.
