Communications and Public Relations Specialist

Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Communications and Public Relations Specialist to contribute to Council’s success.

- Be surrounded by a team of experienced marketers, writers, graphic designers, storytellers and professional communicators!

About the Role The purpose of this position is to promote and raise awareness of Gladstone Regional Council and help ensure that a positive reputation and connection with its communities is maintained. The role is responsible for developing strategic communication plans and delivering high quality communications and collateral.

Your role will include:

- Developing high quality communication strategies to connect key messages with our communities.
- Being present, proactive, and solutions-focused and recognise that the community is the core of our business.
- Developing your career in local government.

You will bring:





- Degree in Public Relations, Communications (or a related discipline) and significant demonstrated experience to perform the responsibilities of the role.
- Well-developed writing skills and experience producing communication and marketing collateral.
- High level skills and experience in developing and activating communication and public relations strategies and budgets to meet organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Robust communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
- Must be eligible and willing to obtain on appointment, a positive notice Working with Children Blue Card.
- Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
