Role Description The Communications Specialist (part-time, remote) is responsible for planning, creating, and distributing clear, engaging communications that support the company’s objectives. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and editing written content for internal and external audiences, preparing press releases and announcements, and helping develop strategic communication plans for key initiatives. The role also involves coordinating internal communications such as updates to team members, newsletters, and informational materials that ensure consistent messaging across the organization.

The Communications

Specialist will collaborate with leadership and technical staff to translate complex information into accessible messages, maintain communication calendars, and monitor the effectiveness of communication efforts. This position requires self-directed work, regular virtual collaboration, and reliable availability within agreed-upon hours.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Communication and Strategic Communications skills to plan messages and ensure consistency across channels.




- Candidates should possess Writing and Press Releases experience to produce clear, qualified content for both internal and external audiences.
- Candidates should possess Internal Communications capabilities to manage updates, notices, and information flow within the organization.
- Candidates should possess excellent command of written and spoken English, with attention to detail, grammar, and tone.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with digital communication tools (e.g., email platforms, collaboration software, basic document design or formatting).
- Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote, part-time setting.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and adapt messaging to different audiences.
- Relevant education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial; experience in technical or industrial environments is a plus.
