Company Secretary | 0.4–0.6 FTE role | Salary band between $160,000 and $180,000 plus superannuation – prorated
This is far more than a traditional company secretarial role. It offers the opportunity to work at the centre of a nationally significant organisation responsible for supporting one of Australia's most important digital infrastructure platforms. The successful candidate will have a direct impact on Board effectiveness, governance practices and strategic decision-making while contributing to an organisation that enables competition, interoperability and innovation across the Australian property sector.
We are seeking a skilled Company Secretary to support the effective operation of a well-established organisation governed by a Board of Directors.
This is an ideal opportunity for a governance, legal, compliance or board secretariat professional seeking a circa 0.4–0.6 FTE role that can fit around other professional or personal commitments.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chair, you will play a trusted advisory role, supporting the Board and its committees while ensuring strong governance practices and compliance with statutory and corporate obligations. You will work closely with Directors, executives and external advisers to facilitate effective decision-making and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Board, committee and member meetings, including agendas, meeting packs and annual calendars.
- Prepare accurate minutes, resolutions, action registers and governance documentation.
- Maintain corporate records, statutory registers and governance documentation.
- Manage ASIC and other regulatory lodgements and reporting requirements.
- Provide practical governance advice to Directors and executives on Board processes,
director duties and governance obligations.
- Support the review and implementation of governance policies, delegations and Board charters.
- Coordinate director induction and ongoing governance support.
- Act as a key liaison between the Board, management and external advisers.
- Monitor governance and regulatory developments and recommend improvements to governance practices.
About You You will bring:
- Experience in a Company Secretary, governance, legal, compliance or Board secretariat role.
- Experience supporting companies operating in a multi-jurisdictional, public sector, regulatory or technology sectors.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles, Board processes and regulatory obligations.
- Exceptional minute-taking and document preparation skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and discretion when handling confidential matters.
- Robust stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage effectively with Chairs, Directors and senior executives.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and governance deadlines.
Highly Regarded
- Governance Institute of Australia, AICD or similar professional qualifications or membership.
- Experience supporting Boards in regulated, government-related or complex operating environments.
