Reclink Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to provide and promote sports, arts and employment pathways for people experiencing disadvantage. We target some of the most vulnerable and isolated communities, including people experiencing significant mental health challenges, disability, homelessness, substance abuse, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, correctional services and economic hardship. In Queensland, Reclink Australia delivers Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) projects funded by the State Government, across Logan and Caboolture. We have just received funding to implement our first Bribie Island SQW program.

Position Overview

Based on Bribie Island, you will supervise a team of up to 11 full-time trainees undertaking a Certificate 1 in Conservation and Ecosystem Management delivered by our partner RTO, Ballistics Training. You will guide and mentor your team to develop their skills, confidence and motivation to enter a trade career, by overseeing all community-based projects whilst passing on your trade skills and expertise. You will focus heavily on OHS and industry-based best practice.

You will implement a range of project deliverables and activities to deliver tailored employment and further education outcomes for Reclink Australia’s Community Work skills Traineeship project under the Queensland Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.



You will work closely with and report to the Skills and Pathways Coordinator to identify individuals’ barriers to work and learning and provide tailored support where possible.

This position will oversee all practical activities of the Conservation and Ecosystem Management program and will include all aspects of project development and implementation to ensure that participants achieve their goals of future employment and/or further training through employment in a structured traineeship consisting of training elements and on the job work experience and group activities.

This is a unique and exciting role that makes a real difference in people’s lives within the Bribie Island region.

No two days will be the same, but generally you will be required to:

Supervise a diverse group of trainees (up to 11) on practical projects throughout the local community, to upskill and retrain participants to develop their confidence, skills, knowledge and motivation to work.

Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time within budget and are of a satisfactory quality.

Monitor trainee attendance and performance and where necessary, manage workplace disputes and under-performance adhering to Reclink’s Code of Conduct and HR policies.

Engage with industry representatives and employers to create opportunities for employment pathway for trainees.

Communicate closely with internal Reclink teams to collaborate and share ideas, resources and opportunities to strengthen the quality of the project and outcomes for trainees.

To be successful in this job you must have:





Minimum Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management, including White Card.

A current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Ability to mentor & supervise people facing barriers to work and to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse groups.

Robust local employer connections and ability to develop community stakeholder relationships.

Enthusiastic self-starter able to meet deadlines when completing projects and tasks.

Flexibility to respond effectively to changing priorities and a willingness to improvise.

Commitment to the values of the organisation.

Ability to work harmoniously and constructively in a team setting with minimal supervision.

A positive National Police Check and Blue card is a condition of employment. This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) working 5 days. This is a maximum term appointment from October 6th 2026 to September 10th 2027 with the possibility of extension dependent on funding. A competitive remuneration will be paid at SCHaDS Level 3.4 plus superannuation with the option to increase your income through salary packaging.
