About the Role:
This is a hands-on cyber engineering role focused on designing, implementing and continuously improving security controls across a diverse enterprise environment. As Cyber Security Engineer, you will work across identity security, email security, web application security, data protection and cloud security, partnering with technical teams to strengthen controls, reduce risk and improve security maturity across the Group.
You will
- Lead the implementation, administration and continuous improvement of key cyber security platforms and controls across the enterprise.
- Support and enhance security technologies including email security, secure web gateways, web application firewalls (WAF), data loss prevention (DLP), identity platforms and cloud security controls.
- Design, configure and optimise security controls that protect critical business systems,
users and sensitive information.
- Manage and improve cyber security platforms including Okta, Netskope, Proofpoint and Cloudflare.
- Work with infrastructure, applications and project teams to embed security requirements into recent and existing technology solutions.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, technical documentation and operational processes.
- Support identity governance activities, access control improvements and authentication security initiatives.
- Analyse control effectiveness and recommend enhancements that strengthen protection, improve user experience and reduce operational risk.
- Improve automation, monitoring, reporting and operational processes to increase the efficiency and maturity of cyber security services.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to evaluate new capabilities, resolve technical issues and support the delivery of security initiatives.
- Contribute to security architecture discussions and provide practical security guidance that aligns with business objectives.
About You:
You are a security professional who thrives in the detail but is motivated by more than closing tickets. You bring the curiosity to investigate issues properly, the judgement to understand risk in context,
and the confidence to work across technical and business stakeholders to improve how security work is delivered. You are comfortable with pace, ambiguity and change, and you can balance practical incident response with the opportunity to help build a more mature cyber security function.
We seek
- Strong experience in security operations, cyber engineering, IAM, incident response or a related technical security role.
- Demonstrated analytical capability, including experience investigating security events, identifying indicators of compromise and assessing incident impact.
- Exposure to enterprise security and identity platforms such as Okta, Netskope, Proofpoint and Cloudflare, or equivalent technologies.
- Confidence translating technical findings into practical recommendations for engineering, infrastructure, operations and security leadership audiences.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to shape better process, documentation, detection capability and operational security maturity by doing the work.
- Current knowledge of security threats, tooling and frameworks, supported by ongoing learning, relevant certification or equivalent practical experience.
