About the role
We are looking for an experienced, organised and caring Dental Assistant / Receptionist to join us in a permanent full-time dual role. The position will involve both chairside dental assisting and front-office reception duties. We are looking for someone who is confident moving between the clinical and administrative sides of the practice and who takes pride in providing an excellent experience for every patient.
Key responsibilities
Clinical duties:
- Providing high-quality chairside assistance during general, cosmetic, restorative, surgical and implant procedures
- Preparing surgeries, instruments and materials for each appointment
- Following current infection-control, sterilisation and clinical safety protocols
- Processing and maintaining instruments and sterilisation records
- Assisting with digital scans, clinical photography and dental imaging where appropriately trained and authorised
- Maintaining clean, organised and fully stocked surgeries
- Monitoring clinical supplies and assisting with stock control and ordering
- Supporting the dentist during more complex and longer appointments
- Helping establish efficient clinical workflows within a new practice
Reception duties:
- Welcoming patients and creating a warm, professional first impression
- Answering telephone calls, emails and online enquiries
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Processing payments, HICAPS claims and patient accounts
- Managing recalls, cancellations and appointment follow-ups
- Communicating treatment information and financial arrangements clearly and professionally
- Following up treatment plans and helping patients coordinate future appointments
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic
About you
- Previous experience as both a dental assistant and dental receptionist
- A Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification, strongly preferred
- Certificate IV in Dental Assisting and/or dental radiography experience, highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilisation and clinical procedures
- Confidence using dental practice-management software, HICAPS and digital systems
- Excellent spoken and written English
- A friendly, calm and professional communication style
- Robust organisation, time-management and multitasking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a growing team

Our clinic has been designed to provide high-quality general, cosmetic and restorative dental care in a welcoming and patient-focused environment. We are investing in advanced technology, including digital scanning, CBCT and OPG imaging, in-house digital dentistry and 3D printing.
