HOW YOU’LL CREATE MEASURED MAGIC

What the hell is a Tinker? We’re glad you asked. Basically, you’re a creative person in the world of advertising. You may have a background in words, or production, or design, or filmmaking, or art direction (or all of the above) - we don’t mind.

A Tinker pulls things apart and puts them back together again. They love playing with ideas and bringing them to life. They fiddle and poke and prod until their ideas are working just right. They love coming up with ideas and they love getting those ideas out into the world for everyone else to enjoy.

THE TASK AT HAND

As a Design Tinker, you’ll have creative and design skills, a folio/website that shows potential and smart thinking and enough energy, ambition and willingness to give this a red hot crack. You’re fizzing with creative energy. You absolutely love the creative industry we work in, you have shown signs that you’ll be amazing, but your best work is still ahead of you.

You will be naturally inquisitive with strong attention to detail and enjoy working within a squad to get shit done. You’ll be solutions oriented, able to form solid relationships with clients and peers, and you’re not afraid to have an opinion.

You’ll have three key things to do:

1. DESIGN SOLUTIONS

You love coming up with ideas, and solving problems through design. You’re able to have lots of ideas and you have a basic level of understanding around communicating through design.

2. DESIGN LEADERSHIP

You aren’t precious with your designs yet. You’re willing to be directed and guided as you learn what needs to be done to a design to shape it in the right way.

ACT LIKE A DESIGNER, THINK LIKE A CLIENT

Your design ideas not only exude creativity, but they’re also solving the problem, or answering the needs of the client. You’re able to understand what a client needs, and have the kinds of ideas that will blow them away.

Thinkerbell represents the coming together of scientific enquiry and hard core creativity – or as we like to call it, ‘Measured Magic’. We are an agency of Thinkers and Tinkers and have extensive experience in the worlds of media (paid, owned, earned, and shared), research, strategy, CX and creative execution. We have helped some of Australia’s best known and most loved brands find their inner magic.

We promise to push you out of your comfort zone, and nurture your inherent brilliant qualities at the same time. The Institute of Measured Magic is our training and development program where we keep brains sticky with internal and external tailored training throughout the year. We also develop personal Measured Magic Indicators (MMIs are our version of KPIs) to ensure everyone is growing in their role and beyond.

We kick off every week with Measured Mondays, our all agency, super-wip and finish every Friday at 4pm with Magic Hour, where we get creative and weird together.

AND on top of your regular leave, everyone also gets a Mind Expansion Project per year, up to 5 consecutive days of extra leave per year for you to expand your mind and explore something new (that is something you wouldn’t normally do and something you’ve never done before), and then share back your experience with the agency. Pretty compelling eh? What would you do?
