Job Title Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Cert III) – Afternoon Shift | Geelong Site Location Geelong, VIC (site-based role) Hours

- Monday – Thursday: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM

- Friday: 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM

About the role We’re seeking a trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of heavy vehicles and plant at our Geelong site. This is a hands-on workshop role focused on preventative maintenance, fault-finding and repairs to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities

- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and inspections on heavy vehicles/plant

- Diagnose faults (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical) and complete repairs efficiently

- Complete breakdown repairs and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime

- Conduct safety checks and ensure equipment meets compliance and roadworthy standards (where applicable)

- Maintain accurate service/repair records and job cards

- Follow site safety procedures, risk assessments and housekeeping standards

- Liaise with operations/supervisors regarding vehicle availability and repair priorities

Mandatory requirements (must have)

- Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology / Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Mechanic (or equivalent)

- Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles and/or mobile plant

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability

- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and reliable attendance

- Ability to work the listed afternoon shift roster in Geelong

Highly regarded (nice to have)

- HR/MR licence

- Experience with waste, municipal, fleet, earthmoving or industrial mobile equipment

- Hydraulic experience and strong preventative maintenance mindset

- Familiarity with maintenance management systems and paperwork compliance
