Finance Ops Consultant – D365 Operations is responsible for supporting the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of the D365 Operations platform across Supply Chain, Demand, and Logistics domains.

This role requires proactive monitoring and issue resolution, ensuring seamless integration across multiple peripheral applications, and maintaining system reliability.

Given the scale and complexity of the D365 Operations landscape, including extensive system integrations and business process dependencies, this role is essential to safeguard operational stability, maintain SLA performance, and ensure uninterrupted business continuity.

The role will also apply strong D365 Finance and Operations functional knowledge, end-to-end solution mapping, process improvement, and cross-functional delivery experience to strengthen operational support across Finance, Supply Chain, Demand, Logistics, and integrated business processes.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & Incident Management

- Provide L2 support for D365 Operations incidents, service requests, and problem management across Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Logistics.
- Perform root cause analysis for issues spanning D365 Operations and integrated systems.
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and service quality standards.

Business Process & Functional Expertise

- Act as a functional SME across Supply, Demand, and Logistics processes, including inventory management, order processing, warehouse, and transport flows.
- Develop a deep understanding of complex business processes and interdependent processes across systems.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure issue resolution aligns with operational needs.

Integration & Complex System Landscape Support

- Monitor and support integrations between D365 Operations and multiple peripheral systems (e.g., WMS, TMS, APIs, and external platforms).
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve cross-system defects and ensure data integrity across the ecosystem.

System Monitoring & Performance Management

- Proactively monitor system health, performance, and failures using tools such as Dynatrace, SMC, and batch job monitoring.
- Analyse system alerts, batch failures, and performance trends to prevent major incidents.
- Ensure timely resolution of system performance issues impacting business operations.

Continuous Improvement & Change Support

- Identify recurring issues and drive problem management initiatives to reduce incident volumes.
- Support small enhancements, configuration updates, and standard changes within D365 Operations.
- Contribute to automation and optimisation initiatives across the support landscape.

Release & Environment Support

- Support deployment cycles, testing validation, and release activities.




- Assist in environment management across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production.
- Ensure readiness and stability during releases and deployments.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with IT governance, audit requirements, and change management processes.
- Support audit activities with system evidence and documentation.
- Maintain adherence to operational and security standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

- Work closely with business users, IT support teams, and external vendors for issue resolution.
- Provide clear communication, updates, and documentation.
- Contribute to knowledge base creation and continuous learning within the team.

Integration & Complex System Landscape Support

- Support integration mapping, source-to-target reconciliation, and data integrity analysis across D365 and integration platforms, including Azure Integration Services and APIs.
- Use experience in complex enterprise landscapes to coordinate functional diagnosis across D365 and a high volume of connected applications.

Continuous Improvement & Change Support

- Analyse recurring operational issues and business processes to identify standardisation, automation, and optimisation opportunities.
- Contribute to configuration governance, master configuration controls, and sustainable ways of working.

Release & Environment Support

- Coordinate functional and system testing, UAT support, deployment validation, cutover preparation, go-live, and hypercare activities.
- Support monthly deployment cycles and production-readiness reviews while maintaining transparent implementation documentation.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

- Apply practical experience in system audits, segregation of duties, tax and statutory compliance, project audit support, and evidence preparation.

Stakeholder Collaboration





- Use Azure DevOps to manage user stories, tasks, sprint delivery timelines, defects, and delivery reporting.
- Communicate clearly with business product owners, technical teams, vendors, and leadership, translating complex issues into practical actions and outcomes.

Knowledge / Qualifications

- 3–7 years of experience supporting ERP systems, preferably D365 Operations.
- Strong understanding of Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and Logistics processes.
- Proven ability to understand and navigate complex business and system architectures with multiple integrations.
- Experience supporting integrated enterprise landscapes involving multiple peripheral applications.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and batch job execution tracking.
- Experience with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Service Bus, APIs) is desirable.
- Proven experience working in Agile environments using Azure DevOps (boards, pipelines, releases).
- Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Demonstrated curiosity and strong learning mindset for new technologies.
- Awareness or exposure to AI-driven solutions, automation, and modern digital capabilities (AI mindset).

Additional knowledge and experience

- Extensive Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations functional experience, with exposure to implementation, production support, solution design, and continuous improvement.
- Experience operating in retail, wholesale, or similarly complex multi-entity environments is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with solution blueprints, end-to-end business process mapping, requirements analysis, and functional documentation.
- Experience supporting D365 production environments with numerous integrations and coordinating issue resolution across business and technical teams.
- Practical experience with data migration planning, data entities, upload cycles, and source-to-target reconciliation.
- Experience in functional testing, system testing, UAT support, deployment cycles, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
- Working knowledge of audit, segregation of duties, tax or statutory compliance, and operational governance within ERP environments.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications such as MB-300 and MB-310, or equivalent practical expertise, are desirable.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical capability, communication, stakeholder management, and project delivery discipline.
