About the role
AppleBerries Early Education is seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator - Diploma Qualified - Lead Educator for Pre Kindy to join our team in Noosaville, QLD. This is a permanent part-time position offering flexibility whilst maintaining the quality and continuity of care our families expect. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for pre-kindy aged children.
You will lead our Pre Kindy program, working collaboratively with your team to deliver exceptional early education experiences that foster children's growth, confidence and love of learning. This role is pivotal in shaping the early years experiences of our youngest learners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Pre Kindy program, planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that promotes children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development
- Maintain accurate and timely observations and assessments of each child's progress and development
- Communicate regularly with families about their child's learning, development and wellbeing, building strong partnerships
- Supervise and mentor support staff and educators within the Pre Kindy room, providing guidance and support
- Implement and maintain duty of care, health, safety and hygiene standards in accordance with legislation and centre policies
- Collaborate with the broader early education team to ensure continuity of care and learning across the centre
- Manage transitions and support children's emotional needs as they move between age groups or into kindergarten
- Maintain detailed records, incident reports and documentation as required by regulatory standards
- Contribute to continuous professional development and stay current with best practice in early childhood education
What we're looking for
- A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent qualification recognised by the regulatory body)
- Current Working with Children Check clearance
- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings
- Demonstrated experience working with pre-kindy aged children in a centre-based setting
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development and learning frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families and staff
- Ability to lead and inspire a team whilst maintaining a collaborative approach
- Experience with observation, assessment and documentation practices
- Commitment to inclusive practices and supporting children with diverse needs
- Flexibility, resilience and a genuine passion for early childhood education
- Knowledge of current regulatory requirements and standards in early childhood education
