Electorate Officer in the Corangamite Electorate Office of Libby Coker MP

Applications are now open for a full-time ongoing position of Electorate Officer based in Armstrong Creek, Vic 3217.

The Office is seeking a person with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills.

This prospect is ideally suited to a community-minded individual with a keen interest in the progressive policy agenda of the Australian Government, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

Key duties of the position:

- Supporting constituents with requests for information and assistance relating to federal government programs, offices, and departments.
- Organising, supporting, and attending community and electorate activities, meetings and events.
- Electorate office duties such as answering incoming calls, drafting correspondence, meeting with constituents, and administrative tasks, including data entry.
- Other duties as required.

Key skills and experience:

- Excellent communication, administrative, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with high attention to detail and deadlines.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and time management skills with well-developed office IT skills
- To be proactive and be able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, showing initiative, flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to research, comprehend and express complex matters to resolve constituent issues.




- Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- The ability to think strategically and to have an interest and strong understanding of government policies.

Additional Skills: · Digital media skills across varied platforms.

· Photography and videoing skills.

· Knowledge of the electorate of Corangamite and community and corporate organisations.

Employment conditions:

The position of EOA 01 is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27.pdf which include:

- A commencing salary starting from $ 77,071 this will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- An additional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a National Police History Check. A probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.
