Electrical Commissioning Supervisor | FIFO 2:1 | Major Iron Ore Development — WA A landmark decarbonisation project in Western Australia is entering its commissioning phase, creating a rare opportunity for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Supervisor to play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable mining operations.
This is a genuine leadership position on a large-scale greenfield development, with full accountability for electrical commissioning and energisation across HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs and control panels. Working alongside engineering, construction and operations teams, you'll drive the program from pre-commissioning through to safe handover, helping bring critical infrastructure online that will support the next generation of low-emission resources projects.
The roster is 2 weeks on / 1 week off — one of the better schedules on offer in WA right now — with competitive remuneration, FIFO from Perth, and full camp accommodation provided.
What you'll be doing
- Planning and managing commissioning schedules aligned with construction milestones
- Leading, mentoring and coordinating commissioning technicians, electricians and subcontractors
- Overseeing pre-commissioning checks and functional testing of HV/LV systems
- Witnessing and validating test results against design and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshooting and fault resolution to keep systems safe and on program
- Driving HSE compliance across all commissioning activities and permit-to-work systems
- Preparing commissioning reports, test certificates and handover documentation
What you'll bring
- Electrical Trade Certificate or Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Current WA Electrical Licence
- 8–10+ years' experience in electrical commissioning on large-scale resources or heavy industrial projects
- Robust working knowledge of protection schemes, HV/LV systems and commissioning practices
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, electrical drawings and technical specs
- Proven site leadership in FIFO environments
- Must have obtained S26 qualification
Highly regarded
- HV Switching Ticket
- Experience on iron ore or mining infrastructure (substations, HV distribution, conveyors)
- Track record on major greenfield developments
