Southern Cross Electronic Security is looking for an experienced Electronic Security Technician to join our Sydney commercial installation and service team.

We are looking for a technician who already has solid electronic security industry experience and is capable of working independently across CCTV, access control, alarm and intercom systems.

The Role

Your work will include installation, service, fault-finding and commissioning across a diverse commercial customer base.

We work across commercial facilities, strata properties, small to medium enterprises and local government sites throughout Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast.

The role includes

- Service and fault-finding of electronic security systems
- Installation and commissioning of CCTV systems
- Installation and commissioning of access control systems
- Alarm system installation, programming and fault-finding
- IP and 2-wire intercom systems
- Structured cabling, cable installation and conduit work
- Diagnosing faults and resolving problems independently
- Completing service and installation documentation

Who We Are Looking For

We are specifically looking for an established Electronic Security Technician with a minimum of 3–5 years' relevant industry experience.

You should be comfortable attending a site, assessing a fault or installation requirement and working through the job without requiring constant supervision.

You must have practical industry experience across the majority of the following:

- Access control
- CCTV
- Alarm systems
- Intercom systems
- Electronic security cabling and installation





Experience in service and fault-finding is particularly important.

Current NSW security licensing is essential.

A current driver's licence and cabling registration are also required.

What We Offer For the right technician, we offer a salary of $120,000–$127,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and capability.

Three, Four or Five Days. You Choose.

We recognise that not every experienced technician wants to work five days in the field indefinitely.

For the right person, we are therefore happy to structure the position as:

- Full-time, 5 days per week
- Permanent part time, 4 days per week
- Permanent part-time, 3 days per week The employment arrangement does not change the calibre of technician we are looking for. We are interested in experienced people who know the industry and can do the job well.
