? Locations We have opportunities across Melbourne, including:
Ormond, Clayton, Oakleigh, Notting Hill, Doncaster, Frankston, Dromana, Berwick, Thomastown, Nunawading, Cheltenham, Toorak, Highett, Northcote and surrounding suburbs.

Depending on participant needs and your availability, shifts may include:
- Day and afternoon shifts
- Evening shifts
- Active nights and sleepovers
- Weekend shifts
- Community access
- Ongoing regular shifts
- Flexible and additional shifts
About the Role As a Support Worker with YAY Today, you will provide individualised, person-centred support to participants in their homes and in the community.
Depending on the participant you support, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting participants with disability, mental health and complex support needs
- Personal care and activities of daily living
- Community access, appointments, social activities and skill development
- Supporting participants with autism, intellectual disability and psychosocial disability
- Supporting participants experiencing behaviours of concern or emotional distress
- Following Behaviour Support Plans and individual support strategies
- Meal preparation and household tasks
- Medication support in accordance with participant care plans and YAY Today procedures
- Encouraging independence, choice and participation
- Building respectful and professional relationships with participants and their families
- Completing accurate progress notes and incident reports
- Recognising and reporting changes in a participant's wellbeing, health or behaviour
- Working collaboratively with families, Support Coordinators, allied health professionals and the YAY Today team
About You We'd love to hear from you if you are dependable, calm, compassionate and genuinely passionate about supporting people with disability and mental health needs.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience working in disability and/or mental health support
- A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, Community Services or another relevant qualification
- Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disability,
psychosocial disability and/or complex needs
- Experience supporting behaviours of concern
- An understanding of person-centred support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good written documentation and progress note skills
- A calm, patient and professional approach
- The confidence to work independently while also being part of a wider team
- A reliable and proactive attitude
- A genuine commitment to participant choice, dignity, independence and safety
Additional training for specific participant needs can be provided where required, so we encourage experienced Support Workers who are willing to learn and develop their skills to apply. Essential Requirements To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Full Australian working rights
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Relevant disability, community services or mental health qualification highly regarded
