Expressions of Interest – Commercial and Procurement Professionals

Government & Defence | Full-time, Permanent, Contract For over 13 years, CAPDA Consulting has delivered trusted consulting services across Defence, engineering, integrated logistics support, project delivery and procurement. We work alongside Defence and industry partners on complex capability development and sustainment programs and offer opportunities across permanent employment, contracting and subcontracting, depending on program needs.

We are inviting Expressions of Interest from experienced Commercial, Procurement and Contract Management professionals who may be interested in being considered for future government, Defence and skilled services opportunities in Canberra.

Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain the Australian Government security clearance required for the relevant opportunity.

Typical Responsibilities

- Plan, manage and support procurement and commercial activities across the procurement lifecycle.
- Develop and review procurement strategies, approach-to-market and evaluation documentation, approval briefs and recommendations.
- Provide commercial and procurement advice that supports value for money, probity, risk management and compliant decision-making.
- Manage or support contracts, including deliverables, milestones, performance, risks, variations, extensions and records.
- Engage with government, Defence, industry, suppliers and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Support governance, assurance, compliance, audit and continuous improvement activities.
- Apply relevant Defence, Commonwealth, legislative, policy and procurement frameworks.

What You'll Bring

- Demonstrated experience delivering or supporting commercial,



procurement or contract management activities in Defence, government or another complex environment.
- Strong commercial judgement, analytical capability and coordination skills across procurement and contract management activities.
- Experience with procurement documentation, contracts, risks, deliverables and governance requirements.
- Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders in government, Defence, industry or other complex environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Desirable Experience

- Experience working within Defence capability, acquisition, sustainment or delivery programs.
- Above-the-Line (ATL) consulting or professional services experience.
- Demonstrated experience using the ASDEFCON document suite (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Australian Government contract management frameworks.
- Experience preparing written advice, briefs, reports, correspondence and approval documentation for stakeholders.
