About the role

That Farm, is seeking a Farm Hand specialising in Cattle & Chickens to join our team in Kelvin, NSW. This is a part-time position 3-4 days a week, offering flexibility whilst contributing to the daily operations of our mixed livestock farm. You will play a vital role in maintaining the health and productivity of our cattle and poultry operations, supporting our commitment to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare standards.

What you'll be doing

- Daily feeding and watering of cattle and chickens, ensuring appropriate nutrition and hydration schedules
- Cleaning and maintaining livestock housing facilities, paddocks and enclosures to promote animal health and safety
- Monitoring animal health and wellbeing, identifying signs of illness or injury and reporting concerns to management
- Assisting with routine husbandry tasks including ear tagging, vaccination support and general animal handling
- Collecting and storing eggs from chicken operations with proper care and hygiene protocols
- Maintaining farm equipment and tools in valuable working condition
- Supporting with seasonal tasks such as fence maintenance, pasture management and livestock movement
- Following health and safety protocols and farm-specific Standard Operating Procedures
- Assisting with breeding programmes and record-keeping as directed

What we're looking for

- Prior experience working with cattle and poultry, whether on a farm, smallholding or agricultural setting
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions
- Strong animal husbandry knowledge and genuine care for animal welfare




- Reliability and commitment to completing tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with farm management
- Basic knowledge of farm safety practices and willingness to follow health and safety protocols
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail in monitoring animal health and farm conditions
- A willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing farm requirements
- Flexibility to adjust work schedules based on seasonal demands and animal needs
- Current drivers licence is essential.
- Mechanical and welding knowledge an advantage.
