Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fellow General Practitioner role (FRACGP/FACRRM) based at Lithgow Medical Clinic in Lithgow, NSW. The GP will provide comprehensive primary care services, including history taking, physical examinations, diagnosis, management of acute and chronic conditions, and preventive health interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with patients of all ages, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting investigations, coordinating care with allied health and specialist providers, and maintaining accurate, timely clinical records.
The Fellow GP will contribute to practice continuity by participating in recalls, care plans, health assessments, and chronic disease management,
while supporting quality improvement and adherence to clinical standards and practice policies. The role also involves building long-term relationships with patients, promoting holistic care, and contributing to a collaborative, values-driven team culture.
Qualifications
- Current Fellowship with RACGP (FRACGP) or ACRRM (FACRRM), with unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner.
- Demonstrated clinical competence in primary care, including chronic disease management, preventive health, acute care, and family medicine.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting, long-term doctor–patient relationships and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to person-centered care aligned with the clinic’s FRANK values (focus, respect, anticipation, never give up, kindness) and a service-oriented mindset.
- Experience using clinical software and electronic medical records, with sound documentation and time-management skills.
- Ability to practice independently, exercise sound clinical judgment, and adhere to relevant professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Interest in continuous professional development, quality improvement, and participation in teaching or mentoring activities is highly regarded.
- Previous experience in rural or regional general practice and additional skills in areas such as minor procedures, mental health, or women’s and children’s health are advantageous.
