Greater Northern Community Services (GNCS) is seeking a caring, reliable and experienced Support Worker to support a 24-year-old female participant in Cranbourne. The role involves providing personalised support to enable community participation, independence and wellbeing. You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with community access and social outings
- Provide transport and companionship to appointments
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Assist with light household cleaning
- Assist with light washing and laundry
- Support meal preparation and cooking
- Encourage independence and daily living skills
- Support the participant to maintain a positive and structured daily routine
About you
- Patient, compassionate and reliable
- Experience supporting participants with intellectual disability and complex mental health needs
- Good understanding of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and anxiety
- Knowledge and confidence in EpiPen use and responding appropriately to allergic reactions
- Comfortable supporting a participant with asthma
- Able to build a trusting and consistent qualified relationship
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Current Driver's Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
