About the role The Finance and Operations Manager is a hands-on, broad role that owns SuperAPI's day to day finance operational function end to end. Think of this role as a mini CFO/COO you will run the numbers that keep the business moving, from accounts, cashflow and payroll through to all reporting, commercial modelling, investor materials, contractual review, pricing, you’ll even get involved with customer management and support.

The role works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and takes on much of the finance workload currently sitting with them, freeing the CFO to focus on broader strategy. It suits someone commercial and curious who wants genuine breadth.

SuperAPI is a Melbourne based RegTech company that sits between Australian employers, their payroll and HR software, the ATO, and superannuation funds. Every time someone starts a new job, we handle the onboarding from end to end, capturing and validating employee details,and managing the choice of superfund, all compliantly and automatically. This matters more than ever now that Payday Super requires contributions within days of payday, which turns getting onboarding wrong into a real compliance risk on every hire.

We reach employers through our platform which is embedded inside many of Australia's leading payroll and workforce management platforms, through our own product Xonboard (a simple and secure onboarding solution and a certified five star app in the Xero App Store), and increasingly through enterprise systems like Workday and SAP SuccessFactors.

On the other side, we partner with many of Australia's largest super funds, which gives us some of the broadest fund coverage in the market. We're proudly independent, which is what lets funds and software partners trust us to operate neutrally across the whole market. We're growing fast with a lot still to build.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the day to day finance function: accounts, cashflow, reconciliations, payroll, payments, bills,



expense management and spend controls, including the expense policy
- Deliver a fast, clean month end reported by day one, and set a weekly cadence so the numbers, admin and contracts stay current
- Use AI to speed up month end, build dynamic reports, draft models and cut through routine finance and admin, knowing when it helps and when it does not. AI drafts and accelerates, but you own the numbers and the decisions
- Produce management and board reporting on revenue, expenses and cashflow
- Build dynamic, self updating dashboards for partners and internal stakeholders using Metabase, and be the go to person for revenue, expenses, KPIs and where we sit as a business
- Own the fund budget process, managing spend against budget and when products and events are switched on and off
- Analyse revenue and revenue share unit economics, support pricing with clear margin and driver analysis, model new deals and pricing, pressure test assumptions, and catch commercial gotchas before we sign
- Set revenue and volume targets and manage the commission structure
- Maintain the whole of business three statement forecast, a driver based model producing the P&L;, balance sheet and cashflow monthly, build reusable models that help the sales team win fund and partner business, and prepare investor updates and reports
- Review contracts across partners, funds and suppliers flagging risks, support commercial negotiations and broader legal work, maintain governance, controls, delegations and compliance, manage office, procurement and people operations, maintain ISO 27001 with the CTO, and muck in on customer support and Xonboard

Key Position Outcomes

- The CFO is freed from the day to day of finance and operations and can focus on strategy, enterprise and growth
- The books are accurate and current, and month end closes and reports by day one, every cycle
- Fund budgets are actively managed,



with products and events switched on and off at the right time and nothing left running that should not be
- Leaders, partners and the board get reporting, KPIs and dashboards they trust, on time, without chasing
- Commercial risks and gotchas are caught before contracts are signed, and pricing and new deals are backed by solid modelling
- The business always has a current, driver based forecast to steer by and to raise capital against
- Investors get timely, accurate updates, and the business stays investor and data room ready at all times
- Business targets are clear, current and understood across the team

Required Skills & Experience

- CA or CPA qualified with a strong accounting foundation
- Proven experience across the full finance cycle, including accounts, payroll, reconciliations, reporting and month end
- Extremely strong financial modelling skills, including three statement modelling, new business modelling and pricing
- Comfortable using data tools and AI to build dynamic reports and dashboards, with experience in Metabase (BI tool) or similar a massive advantage
- Commercial mindset with a positive grasp of unit economics, pricing and revenue analysis
- Happy to wear multiple hats and work hands on in a fast paced startup environment
- High attention to detail and a security first mindset when handling sensitive data
- Legal entitlement to work in Australia
