About the role

Full-Time | Immediate Start | 4-months contract

Marthakal Homelands and Resource Centre Aboriginal Corporation (MHRC) is looking for a proactive and reliable Finance & Office Administrator to commence as soon as possible in their Winnelie office.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a variety of tasks, has strong attention to detail, and is committed to providing high-quality administrative and financial support in a community-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

Finance Administration

- Assist with accounts payable processing, including matching, coding, and entering supplier invoices.
- Obtain and track invoice and purchase order approvals and process weekly creditor payments.
- Reconcile creditor accounts against monthly supplier statements.
- Assist with accounts receivable invoicing and receipting.
- Perform banking and reconciliation tasks.
- Maintain accurate finance records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with credit card receipt collection and reconciliation.
- Support month-end finance activities and audit preparation.
- General finance administration support.

General Administration Support

- Provide administrative support to managers and coordinators.
- Manage telephone and email enquiries and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy filing systems and administrative databases.
- Undertake office errands, including banking, postage, purchasing, and supply collection.
- Assist with coordinating freight, deliveries, transport,



and logistics for programs and business units.
- Collect, distribute, and track documents, supplies, equipment, and other items.
- Assist with arranging flights, accommodation, transport, and logistics for staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain records of deliveries, freight and logistics activities as required.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and freight.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and other administrative documentation.
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position as directed.

About you

Essential Selection Criteria

- Experience in administration or customer service roles.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal people and communities.
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Ochre Card.
- Must be an Australian citizen or have unlimited work rights in Australia.
- Must hold NT Drivers Licence.

Desirable Selection Criteria

- Certificate in Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB or similar).
- Basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable or bookkeeping processes.
- Previous experience in a community, not-for-profit or Aboriginal organisation.
