We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role with responsibility across accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit control, reconciliations and general finance operations.
Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director, you will play an key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and providing reliable financial information to support the business.
Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
No two days will be exactly the same. Your responsibilities will include:
- managing customer invoicing and following up outstanding accounts;
- maintaining customer accounts and processing receipts;
- managing credit applications and monitoring customer credit;
- preparing and reviewing overdue and doubtful debtor reports;
- issuing customer statements and resolving account discrepancies;
- processing customer rebates and credit notes;
- processing supplier invoices and managing payment runs;
- reconciling credit cards;
- maintaining accurate customer and supplier master data; and
- preparing balance sheet reconciliation support for debtor and creditor accounts.
What we’re looking for You are someone who enjoys working with numbers but also understands that a outstanding Finance Officer needs strong relationships, good judgement and a willingness to solve problems.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- a Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting or similar qualification, or equivalent demonstrated experience;
- at least 3 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role, with solid accounts receivable and accounts payable experience;
- good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes;
- strong Microsoft Excel skills;
- experience working with Netsuite is a plus;
- excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
- confidence communicating with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders; and
- the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
