An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Team Leader to join our collaborative Finance team at Kennedys. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will lead a high-performing team while driving continuous improvement across financial processes, controls and reporting.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational finance with strategic business partnering. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial insights that support commercial decision-making and business growth.
About The Team
Our Finance team supports the firm globally, delivering financial reporting, operational support and commercial insights that help drive business performance. In Australia, you will join a close-knit team of 10 finance professionals where knowledge-sharing, continuous improvement and professional development are actively encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team
- Prepare and analyse financial results, KPIs and business performance metrics
- Support budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities
- Oversee payroll review processes and liaise with the external payroll provider
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting capability
- Maintain robust financial controls,
governance and compliance frameworks
- Authorise payments and support audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Build strong relationships with various stakeholders across the business
About You We are seeking an analytical problem solver, who has a proactive mindset and genuine passion for continuous improvement. Other Skills And Attributes Required Are
- CA or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
- Experience in a senior finance, financial accounting or business partnering role
- Strong financial reporting, budgeting and cashflow management experience
- A proven track record of leading and developing teams
- Advanced Excel skills and robust financial systems knowledge
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within a professional services or law firm environment will be highly regarded
