Redpath Australia is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Diesel Fitter to join our team at the Northparkes E22 Project in Central West NSW. Working on a up-to-date fleet of Sandvik underground mobile equipment , you will play a critical role in leading maintenance activities, mentoring tradespeople, and ensuring equipment reliability to support safe and productive underground operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Leading Hand Diesel Fitter will coordinate and participate in the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs of underground mobile mining equipment while providing day-to-day leadership to the maintenance team.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading and supervising a team of maintenance personnel
- Performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on Sandvik underground equipment
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, and auto electrical faults
- Coordinating daily maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime
- Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard




- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to tradespeople and apprentices
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance department
- Promoting and maintaining Redpath's strong safety culture

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Australian recognised Trade Qualification as a Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Senior Diesel Fitter, or Supervisory Tradesperson within underground mining
- Strong experience maintaining Sandvik underground mobile equipment
- Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills across heavy mobile plant
- Sound understanding of underground mining operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Ability to work effectively within a 14/14 roster arrangement
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

- HR Driver's Licence
- High Risk Work Licences
- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Space Entry certification
- First Aid qualifications
