Role Description The Founding CTO / Principal Engineer, Applied AI will lead the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of Amulet’s agent platform, working closely with the founders to define and execute the product roadmap. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Sydney, NSW, involving hands-on software development, system design, and deployment of production-grade AI systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include building core services and APIs, selecting and integrating AI models, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring a growing technical team.





The role also involves collaborating with product and operations to translate customer requirements into technical solutions, managing infrastructure and security, and ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Software Development and Product Development for building and shipping robust, production-quality AI products.
- Experience in Architecture and IT Strategy to design scalable systems and align technology decisions with business goals.
- Proficiency in Project Management to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex technical initiatives in a startup setting.
- Deep experience with modern backend stacks, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure), and data-intensive applications.
- Hands-on expertise in applied AI/ML (e.g., LLMs, agents, orchestration frameworks) and integrating models into real-world workflows.
- Proven ability to lead or build high-performing engineering teams and establish technical processes and standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with founders, customers, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
