About the role
We are looking for exceptional hospitality people to join the opening team of our new bar & restaurant, Gabi, operating Wednesday through Sunday.
We are building a small, passionate and highly engaged front of house team, hiring for multiple roles across bartending and floor service, as well as a restaurant supervisor. Full-time, part-time, and casual positions are available. Our approach is centred around excellent food, thoughtful beverage, warm service and a positive workplace culture. Key responsibilities
Restaurant Supervisor — Wine Focus (full-time):
- Leading service and supporting the FOH team.
- Maintaining consistently high standards of hospitality and service.
- Coordinating sections, bookings, table flow and service.
- Developing genuine relationships with guests and handling feedback professionally.
- Building and maintaining the wine list, including wine ordering and stock control.
- Providing confident wine recommendations and professional wine service.
- Supporting wine education and training across the team.
- Training, mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Working closely with the kitchen and management team to ensure smooth service.
- Opening and closing duties, shift supervision.
Section Waiters — FOH (full-time, part time, casual):
- Taking ownership of your section from setup through to close.
- Delivering warm, attentive and knowledgeable service.
- Communicating menu, food and beverage information confidently.
- Providing thoughtful food and wine recommendations.
- Delivering professional wine service.
- Building genuine connections with guests.
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Working collaboratively with the wider FOH and kitchen teams.
- Assisting with opening, closing, cleaning and restocking.
- Participating in pre-service briefings and ongoing training.
Bartender — FOH (part-time, casual):
- Preparing and serving cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Delivering consistent, high-quality drinks and professional beverage service.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked bar.
- Preparing bar mise en place, garnishes and batching as required.
- Developing strong knowledge of the cocktail and beverage offering.
- Confidently assisting guests with wine recommendations.
- Supporting floor service during busy periods, including running drinks and food, clearing and resetting tables and assisting sections.
- Working closely with the FOH, kitchen and management teams.
- Assisting with opening, closing, cleaning, restocking and stock control.
About you Restaurant Supervisor — Wine Focus:
- 2–3+ years' experience in a quality restaurant, wine bar, hotel or similar environment.
- Previous supervisory or senior FOH experience.
- Strong professional wine service experience.
- Experience curating or maintaining a restaurant wine list.
- Experience with wine ordering, cellar management or stock control is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for wine, food and hospitality.
- WSET Level 3 or equivalent wine education is desirable, although equivalent practical knowledge and experience will be considered.
Section Waiter — FOH:
- Previous experience in a quality restaurant, wine bar, hotel or similar environment.
- Previous section waiter experience is highly desirable.
- Skilled table and wine service experience.
- Strong communication and attention to detail.
- A genuine interest in food, wine and hospitality.
- A positive,
collaborative and reliable approach.
- WSET Level 2 or equivalent wine education is desirable.
Bartender — FOH:
- Previous bartending experience in a quality restaurant, cocktail bar, wine bar or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of cocktail preparation and professional bar service.
- Experience with wine and beverage service.
- Previous restaurant floor experience is highly desirable.
- Good communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- A genuine passion for cocktails, wine, food and hospitality.
- Someone who is comfortable moving between the bar and floor depending on the needs of service.
