General Practitioner - Aboriginal Medical Services
Make a Meaningful Difference Through Community-Focused Care An established Aboriginal-led health service in South-Western Sydney is seeking a General Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary team and play an key role in delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and the wider local community.

The Opportunity
This part-time GP position would suit a doctor who enjoys comprehensive general practice and is passionate about preventative healthcare, chronic disease management and improving health outcomes within the community.
You will have the opportunity to manage a diverse patient base while working collaboratively with a team that understands the importance of culturally appropriate and patient-centred care.
Your Role
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing comprehensive, high-quality general practice care
- Managing acute and chronic health conditions
- Delivering preventative health assessments and health promotion
- Conducting Aboriginal Health Assessments and GP Management Plans
- Supporting patients with chronic disease and complex health needs
- Providing women's health and mental health care
- Working closely with nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners and allied health professionals
- Maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and patient care
- Participating in quality improvement, accreditation and clinical governance activities
- Supporting community health initiatives and outreach programs
- Building trusted,
respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families
About You We are looking for a Fellowed GP who combines robust clinical skills with genuine empathy, excellent communication and a commitment to culturally safe healthcare.
You will ideally have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities or demonstrate a strong willingness to develop your understanding of Aboriginal health, culture and community needs.
Essential Criteria
- Current AHPRA registration
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM
- Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number
- Current medical indemnity insurance
- Current CPR certification
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues and Closing the Gap initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to continuing professional development
