IREN is seeking an experienced Environmental Lead to drive environmental compliance, risk management and sustainability performance across our Australian projects and operations.
Reporting to the HSSE Manager - Australia, you will provide environmental leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from development and construction through to operations.

About You

- Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in construction, energy, infrastructure, data centres, resources or utilities.
- Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and approvals.
- Experience with ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, investigation and reporting skills.
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to sites across Australia.

Key Responsibilities





- Lead and maintain IREN's Environmental Management System and environmental risk framework.
- Manage environmental approvals, licences, permits and compliance obligations.
- Provide environmental advice across development, construction and operational activities.
- Lead environmental risk assessments, monitoring and incident investigations.
- Oversee waste, water, biodiversity, heritage, emissions and environmental management programs.
- Manage contractor environmental performance and compliance.
- Build solid relationships with regulators, consultants and key stakeholders.
- Drive environmental awareness, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
