Role overview

The purpose of a Data Analyst is to collect, interpret, and transform data into meaningful insights that support business decision‑making. They ensure data accuracy, apply statistical and analytical techniques, and present findings through reports and visualisations. By identifying trends and patterns, Data Analysts help organisations improve efficiency, reduce risks, and make evidence‑based strategic choices.

Key responsibilities

Data Collection & Management

- Gather, clean, and validate datasets from internal and external sources.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure accuracy across systems.

Analysis & Interpretation

- Apply statistical and computational techniques to identify trends, correlations, and patterns.
- Translate raw data into actionable insights for business decision‑making.

Reporting & Visualisation

- Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau,



Excel).
- Present findings clearly to stakeholders and management.

Collaboration & Support

- Work with cross‑functional teams (finance, operations, marketing, IT) to support strategic goals.
- Provide data‑driven recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce risks.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security frameworks.
- Support compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.

Qualifications and skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Skills: SQL, Excel, Python/R, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), statistical modelling, and data governance knowledge.
