The role:
Lead fire management across some of Central Queensland's most diverse and iconic landscapes.
As Principal Ranger (Fire), you will lead the delivery of Central Region's fire management program across national parks, State forests and other protected areas. You will provide strategic direction for fire planning, planned burning, bushfire preparedness and response, while ensuring programs are delivered safely, effectively and in line with legislative and departmental requirements.
Leading a specialist regional fire team, you will build capability, drive continuous improvement and support strong operational outcomes. You will work closely with Rangers, First Nations peoples, the Queensland Fire Department, local communities and other stakeholders to deliver collaborative fire and land management outcomes.
The role also contributes to disaster management activities,
supporting preparedness, response and recovery efforts associated with bushfires and other natural disasters.
