Role: Graphic Designer (with UX exposure)

SUMMARY
We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team delivering high-quality visual design for a High Profile Government Department — think campaign materials, publications, presentations, and brand assets used across government and international audiences. You'll work in a fast-paced environment, with room to also flex into UX/digital design occasionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design visually compelling assets; presentations, publications, infographics, campaign and promotional materials, for a High Profile Government Department and related stakeholders
- Prepare and manage press-ready artwork with print vendors, meeting production and brand standards
- Maintain and evolve consistent visual identity and branding across all materials
- Design layouts for print and digital assets
- Produce multimedia content across platforms, ensuring a high level of quality and creativity
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for visual and brand elements
- Opportunity to contribute to digital/UX projects, wireframes, prototypes, and interface design
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, with a robust portfolio showcasing a range of design works.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word and PowerPoint).
- Strong understanding of design principles,
including typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (at times).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Hold a NV1 or higher Australian Government security clearance.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) design principles and best practices.
- Understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and web development processes.
- Willingness to learn and develop user experience design skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAITS
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience working at a digital agency as a Graphic Designer or UI Designer.
- Portfolio of key projects delivered in past years, calling out your role on the project, deliverables responsible and successes achieved.
- Excellent communication skills (both in conversation and in writing) and a portfolio which demonstrates this ability in various phases of design.
- Ability to work gracefully and have a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
- Worked within collaborative, cross-functional teams to deliver multiple, successful projects.
