Role Description The HD Fitter role is an on-site position based in Kalgoorlie, WA, 2/1 roster working across mining and civil environments on heavy diesel and mobile equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing diagnostics, repairs, and servicing on heavy equipment, conducting scheduled and preventative maintenance, and supporting breakdown and shutdown activities to minimize operational downtime. The role involves field service work, fault finding, and ensuring all tasks are completed in line with safety standards, company procedures, and client requirements.





The HD Fitter will collaborate closely with supervisors, other trades, and clients, maintaining clear communication about equipment status, work completed, and any issues identified. Accurate documentation of work, adherence to site safety protocols (including working at height where required), and contributing to a positive, team-focused work environment are essential aspects of the position.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Heavy Equipment servicing and repair.
- Experience with Mobile Equipment and Field Service work in mining or civil operations.
- Ability to safely perform tasks while Working at Height and in wide-ranging site conditions.
- Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or equivalent).
- Experience with diagnostics, fault finding, and use of appropriate tools and equipment.
- Understanding of and commitment to safety standards, permits, and site procedures.
- Current driver’s license; HR or higher class license is advantageous.
- Ability to work in remote or challenging environments and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
- Exposure to mining or civil industry equipment and willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
