Role Description The Head Chef is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Brisbane Area. This position is responsible for leading the kitchen team, designing and executing seasonal menus, and ensuring consistent, high-quality food preparation aligned with each venue’s concept. Daily tasks include overseeing food sourcing, stock control, and cost management, maintaining health and safety standards, and coordinating with front-of-house leadership to deliver a seamless guest experience.

The Head

Chef will train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff, optimize kitchen operations, and contribute to the development of new dishes and culinary experiences.



Collaboration with management on menu innovation, specials, and events is a key part of this role.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in a senior kitchen role (Head Chef or equivalent) within high-quality, fast-paced hospitality venues.
- Robust skills in menu development, food presentation, and maintaining consistent culinary standards.
- Ability to manage kitchen operations, including stock control, budgeting, and food cost management.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and best practices, with a commitment to a safe, compliant workplace.
- Experience leading and mentoring diverse kitchen teams, including training, performance management, and roster planning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work closely with venue management and front-of-house teams.
- Comfort with experiential and concept-driven dining, and enthusiasm for innovation in food and guest experience.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or apprenticeship; additional certifications in food safety or kitchen management are beneficial.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by hospitality operations.
- Experience in modern Mexican, Italian, or similar contemporary cuisines is an advantage.
