Position Information

Camden Haven High School is a dynamic, inclusive, integrated face-to-face and distance education campus, providing learning opportunities for 1,719 students across NSW. The school has 687 face-to-face students, 336 full-time distance education students and 696 students accessing single courses through distance education. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are strongly represented, with 247 enrolments across the school.

Teaching staff deliver learning across both modes, providing a broad and flexible curriculum responsive to the diverse needs, interests and aspirations of students. The school's executive team includes 23 Head Teacher positions, reflecting the scale and complexity of the school's educational provision.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Capacity to collaboratively lead a large Science faculty as an additional Head Teacher, setting high expectations and supporting the diverse needs of Camden Haven High School’s dual-mode setting.
2. Demonstrated expertise in Science and curriculum leadership, with a proven ability to successfully implement new curriculum through high-quality planning, programming, assessment and resource development.
3. Demonstrated leadership in the development and implementation of whole-school initiatives that deliver improved outcomes,



together with a proven capacity to build and lead high-performing teams.

General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
