A rare hands-on HR Business Partner opportunity with a growing Australian group entering its next chapter of expansion. Perth-based, covering WA/SA/NT across two complementary brands. Report directly to the GM People, Safety & Culture. Close-knit team of high-performing peers.
About the opportunity
HeXTalent is partnering with a well-established Australian group with a strong national footprint. The business operates across two complementary brands, has successfully integrated multiple acquisitions over recent years, and is in a genuinely healthy commercial position, with the momentum and appetite to selectively grow from here.
The exciting part: the business is actively preparing for its next chapter of expansion. A refreshed executive team is in place, the operating rhythm is stable, and the leadership group is deliberately positioning the organisation for the next growth phase.
For someone joining as HR Business Partner across WA, SA and NT, this is a genuine inflection-point moment — a chance to step into a growing business as it enters its next chapter, and help shape the people function through what comes next.
Happy to share the full business context and identity in a private conversation with suitable applicants.
The role
Reporting to the GM People, Safety & Culture, the HR Business Partner (WA/NT/SA) is a true HR generalist and business partner role, hands-on across the full employee lifecycle and providing strategic HR advice across the region.
You'll partner with Regional Managers, Branch Managers and the sales leadership team of the second brand, providing dedicated guidance and coaching to 9 people leaders across a region of 136 employees on people processes, recruitment, engagement, performance management and retention.
Key responsibility areas
- Business partnering — trusted advisor to Regional and Branch Managers on people processes, engagement, performance management,
and attraction/retention
- Employee lifecycle management — E2E HR administration via ELMO, ensuring compliance with employment law, awards and company policies
- Employee relations — proactive management of complex performance, conduct, grievance and disciplinary matters; coaching leaders through performance conversations; investigations conducted fairly and equitably
- Talent acquisition & onboarding — hands-on delivery across sourcing, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding. Active partnership with hiring managers — coaching, not shortlist-owning
- Learning & development — assist in creating and delivering training material through ELMO and in-person facilitation; work with senior management on succession and development
- Culture, DEI & workforce improvement — active contributor to the PSC Strategic Plan; lead assigned strategic initiatives
- WHS & Return to Work — assist the GM PSC and HSE Manager with ICAMs, safety inspections and RTW/injury management
FY27 focus areas: Leadership Pathway Development · Attraction & Retention · DEI · Wellbeing.
