About the role

Morgan Construction Enterprises Pty Ltd (MCE) is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Based from our Bullsbrook operations, the position involves working on telecommunications projects throughout the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia.

The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and networks.

The successful applicant will report directly to the Project Manager and work closely with our telecommunications rigging and construction crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with client specifications and industry standards.

This position involves both Perth metropolitan and regional WA projects, and applicants must be willing to travel and work away when required.

Key responsibilities

1. Installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunications equipment and systems
2. Perform telecommunications installation and commissioning works in accordance with project requirements
3. Read and interpret construction plans, telecommunications designs, work instructions, MOPs and technical documentation
4. Undertake testing, fault finding and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and networks
5. Diagnose technical issues and determine appropriate solutions
6. Monitor and maintain telecommunications networks and associated equipment
7.



Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on telecommunications equipment
8. Install, configure and maintain mobile telecommunications equipment and associated systems
9. Use telecommunications test and measuring equipment to verify system performance
10. Ensure installations, testing and commissioning meet client specifications and quality requirements
11. Prepare and maintain relevant technical, site and project documentation
12. Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, crew members and other contractors as required
13. Maintain high standards of safety, quality and workmanship
14. Comply with company policies, procedures and reasonable instructions
15. Undertake other duties relevant to the position as required

Qualifications, licences & experience

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

1. Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in the telecommunications industry
2. Demonstrated experience in the installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunications equipment
3. Experience with telecommunications fault finding, troubleshooting and maintenance
4. Strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment, systems and network principles
5. Ability to read and interpret telecommunications designs, construction plans, technical documentation and work instructions

Experience using telecommunications testing and measuring equipment
7. Working at Heights certificate
8. Tower Rescue certificate
9. First Aid certificate
10. Current CPR certificate
11. Construction White Card
12. Current Australian driver's licence
13. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
14. High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
15. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
16. Ability and willingness to travel and work away on regional projects as required

Relevant telecommunications industry training, licences and additional certifications will be highly regarded.
