Role details The Social Work department at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Social Worker to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your prospect * Deliver high level Social Work clinical services to an allocated clinical area and exercise day-to-day leadership to a team of Social Workers, working within a multi-disciplinary environment and across a number of wards and clinics. * Provide organisational and clinical leadership to the Social Work Department in the Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS). This incorporates professional oversight of a clinical portfolio as negotiated with the Discipline Director, which includes but is not limited to: Domestic and Family Violence (including High Risk and integrated service responses); Crisis Intervention in critical care settings; Rehabilitation; and Residential Aged Care pathway. This role also incorporates clinical supervision, consulting, and organisational and quality activities to assist with the ongoing service improvement. * Deliver clinical services to consumers in the Mackay Hospital and Health Services area, covering a range of clinical conditions and complexity. About the Team
Our Social Work Service delivers care to patients,
families and carers throughout our hospital system as well as in our community and rural based health services. Our Social Workers are members of the treating team and provide a broad range of generalist and specialist services including, counselling, care coordination and guidance regarding: diagnosis and illness management, treatment and recovery processes and referral information.
