Primary Objective
Provide operational Information Communication Technology (ICT) management and support services to ensure high availability and maximum effectiveness of client Agency systems and information and communications technology to support business operations. This position primarily services the Department of Education.
Context statement
ICT Services provides ICT hardware and software services to client agencies to meet business requirements. This includes end user services such as the ICT Service Centre, End User Computing, Network Management,
Voice and Telecommunications including internet. This position is in the ICT Service Management unit and works closely with the Service Providers and Service Delivery teams supporting allocated client Agencies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist with the implementation and ongoing management of ICT services and related systems for client Agencies, including NT
Government schools.
1. Develop a thorough understanding of the NT school workplace to provide advice, support and communication to school and
corporate staff on available digital services.
- Provide leadership and resource management of the client Agency ICT Operations section to effectively contribute to the achievement of the strategic directions.
- Assist with the operation of contracts for delivery of ICT services and the relationships with major service providers.
- Provide technology support and consulting services for school, corporate and distance education clients.
- Manage processes relating to changes to the ICT environment to ensure changes are planned, prioritised, costed, communicated and implemented effectively.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of computer, server, local area and wide area network services
and ICT security for a large and highly dispersed client base.
- Experience in supporting delivery of ICT, digital and/or data solutions from an operational and/or project perspective.
- Innovative thinker with good problem-solving skills and a structured approach to managing priorities and work.
- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner and approach negotiations with a clear understanding of desired business outcomes and maintain strong professional working relationships with a range of stakeholders including external service providers.
1. Demonstrated ability to research developments across the education sector particularly in relation to innovative digital and data
systems and initiatives that support school improvement.

innovative.
Desirable
1. Appropriate tertiary qualification in education, information technology or other relevant discipline.
2. Certification in or demonstrated knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
