Role DescriptionThe Junior Business Development Executive is a full-time, hybrid role based in Greater Melbourne, with flexibility to work from home when appropriate.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in business development and technology sales. You will receive support from an experienced team while developing new business opportunities with K–12 schools and building strong relationships with existing customers.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Research and identify prospective school customers
- Contact, qualify and develop new sales opportunities
- Arrange and attend meetings with school leaders, ICT teams and other key stakeholders
- Learn to present and demonstrate Edunet’s products, services and technology solutions
- Assist with preparing quotes, proposals and tender responses
- Support opportunities through the sales cycle, from initial contact to successful handover
- Maintain accurate customer, activity and opportunity information in our CRM
- Follow up customer enquiries, proposals and sales opportunities
- Work closely with Edunet’s sales, technical, operations and support teams
- Help ensure a smooth transition from sale to implementation and ongoing support
- Contribute to sales reporting, forecasting and business-development campaigns
- Build your knowledge of education technology, customer needs and competitor activity
- Represent Edunet at school meetings, industry events and technology demonstrations
This is a relationship-led sales role suited to someone who enjoys meeting new people, asking thoughtful questions and helping customers find practical solutions. Skills and ExperienceWe are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence speaking with customers by phone, online and in person
- A genuine interest in sales, technology and the K–12 education sector
- The ability to listen carefully, understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions
- The ability to explain products and services in clear,
straightforward language
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- A proactive, organised and self-motivated approach
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
- A willingness to learn, accept feedback and develop new skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Basic confidence using business software, with the ability to learn CRM and quoting systems
- A current Australian driver licence and willingness to travel to schools across Greater Melbourne, with occasional travel further afield
- A valid Victorian Working with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one before commencing employment
Previous experience in sales, customer service, account management, education or technology would be well regarded but is not essential. A qualification in business, marketing, education, information technology or a related field would also be advantageous but is not required.
