The Role

As a Lead Field Technician you will be responsible for providing customer and technical support for installed systems Security CCTV, Access Control Systems, and other IP or cloud-based products.

You will service and support existing customers by responding to service calls, programmed maintenance, Customer Support Programs as well as performing installation and commissioning on complex systems.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”.

- Always acts as “our customer’s best service provider” thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service. This is not only through providing a solution to the service call,



but ability to communicate with client on site about faults and update your scheduling team accordingly.
- Respond to routine and some non-routine customer service calls, scheduled maintenance calls. Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, replace defective parts and debug systems for routine problems; install projects, as necessary.
- Complete accurate and detailed service reports for customers and Convergint promptly to allow for accurate invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Rostered after-hours emergent service calls.
- Work with our remote IT team who will provide support on site.
- Assist with the development and updating of best practice techniques.

To be successful in the role you will need to have:

- Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
- High-level communication skills - written, oral, and liaison.
- Strong technical skills and/or experience related to electronic security systems.
- Programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.

Requirements:

- Minimum 8 years’ experience as Service technician with industry /trade qualifications
- Experience with various EACS systems Gallagher, Genetec, Integriti, Milestone, Avignon
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Willingness to work on an On-Call Roster
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- A valid Victoria Security License.
- Construction Induction White Card
- Open cabling licence
- A proficiency in MS Office applications.
