SDI Limited is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Leading Hand to join our Moulding team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing professional who can lead by example, support team performance, and drive safety, quality, and productivity outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate daily activities within the department.
- Allocate machines and work assignments to shift team members.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all safety procedures and reporting hazards.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and daily production meetings.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures to prevent non-conformances.
- Complete batch records, logbooks, and other controlled documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow Good Documentation Practice (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
- Monitor production performance and achieve daily production targets.
- Communicate machine breakdowns, delays, and operational issues to Supervisors.




- Maintain high housekeeping standards through 5S and workplace organisation.
- Ensure equipment and work areas are kept clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Assist with machine start-up, shutdown, cleaning, and basic setup activities.
- Print and manage production documentation as required.
- Store approved products correctly within warehouse areas.
- Troubleshoot product and process issues to ensure specifications are met.
- Train and support new and existing team members.
- Assist with stocktakes and inventory activities.

Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or processing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and train others.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
