The School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering and IT is seeking an education focused Lecturer in Data Analytics (Level B) to join the team on a continuing basis.
About the role
Working in close collaboration with a dynamic and diverse faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to the broad area of Data Analytics / Artificial Intelligence (DA/AI). You may also teach into subjects in the Human-Computer Interaction & Games discipline.
You will teach subjects in the broad area of data analytics as part of our Online Program Management (OPM) undergraduate and postgraduate course offerings in this area. Potential subjects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students include:
- Python Programming for Data Processing (OPM)
- Data Driven Storytelling Studio (Spring)
- SAS Predictive Business Analytics (Spring)
- Data Visualisation and VisualAnalytics (OPM)
About you
We are seeking candidates who have;
- A doctorate in an appropriate area
- Successful record of research achievement
- Experience with teaching in DA/AI and in particular, Data Visualisation and Visual Analytics, Data Processing Using R, and/or Data Processing Using Python
- Demonstrated knowledge in Data Analytics/ Artificial Intelligence / Data Visualisation and related subjects
- Ability to contribute to curriculum development
- Demonstrated ability to forge links with the industry and other key stakeholders
Remuneration & Benefits
Base Salary Range:
$130,297 to $154,215 pa (Level B)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
This position is full-time and an appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
