Key Responsibilities
- Advise the business on a range of Australian financial services regulatory matters.
- Support the Head of Legal in managing regulatory projects,
regulatory change initiatives and day-to-day advisory work.
- Interpret and provide practical guidance on applicable regulatory frameworks and obligations.
- Work closely with business, risk and compliance stakeholders on regulatory compliance and governance matters.
- Assist with regulator engagement, responses to regulatory enquiries and implementation of regulatory developments.
- Review and advise on products, services and business initiatives from a regulatory perspective.
- Support regulatory remediation, policy reviews and control uplift projects as required.
Requirements
- Admitted lawyer in Australia.
- Approximately 4-10 years' PQE, although all relevant candidates will be considered.
- Experience advising on financial services regulatory matters gained in-house, at a regulator, or within a leading law firm.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Banking and prudential regulation
- Markets and securities regulation
- Consumer or commercial lending
- Wealth management
- Payments or fintech regulation
- Regulatory compliance and governance
- Robust stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Commercial, pragmatic and solutions-oriented approach.
