Heavy Truck Drivers (ANZSCO: 733111)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Drive heavy and multi-combination vehicles to transport customer consignments across metropolitan, regional and interstate networks.
2. Undertake scheduled long-haul assignments, including eastbound runs and deliveries to regional and remote destinations.
3. Review consignment documents, delivery requirements and allocated routes to ensure freight is collected and delivered on schedule.
4. Carry out pre-departure and post-journey vehicle inspections and immediately report defects, damage or roadworthiness concerns.
5. Assist with and monitor the loading and unloading of cargo for single-drop and multi-drop delivery runs.
6. Distribute loads correctly and restrain freight with approved chains, straps and other load-security equipment.
7. Provide dispatch with timely updates on vehicle movements, delivery status, delays and revised customer directions.
8. Prepare accurate work diaries, trip sheets, proof-of-delivery documents and vehicle condition records.
9. Operate GPS, communication and shipment-tracking systems to navigate routes and record real-time delivery updates.
10. Observe all requirements relating to work and rest hours, fatigue management, road safety, load restraint and chain of responsibility.
11. Document and escalate accidents, freight damage, delivery variances and operational incidents in accordance with company procedures.
12. Maintain assigned vehicles and equipment in a clean, safe condition, complete permitted routine checks and represent GVJ Logistics professionally at customer sites.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. AQF Certificate II or III in a relevant field or equivalent relevant industry experience
2. Valid Australian MC truck licence
3. Minimum of 1 year's recent heavy or multi-combination driving experience
4. Experience undertaking metropolitan, regional or interstate freight deliveries
5. Sound geographic knowledge of Australian road networks
6. Knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint, chain of responsibility and heavy-vehicle safety
7. Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify and report vehicle faults
8. Fatigue Management Certificate and Load Restraint Certificate
9. Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing and a pre-employment medical
10. MSIC Card, Dangerous Goods Licence, BFM accreditation and forklift ticket where required, or willingness to obtain them

Maintenance Planner (ANZSCO: 312911 - Maintenance Planner)

$80,000 - $90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Administer a current fleet register covering prime movers, heavy vehicles, trailers and cargo-handling equipment.
2. Capture registration details, odometer readings, inspection due dates, maintenance histories, warranty information and reported faults.
3. Design preventive maintenance plans that reflect fleet utilisation, manufacturer recommendations and heavy-vehicle roadworthiness obligations.
4. Schedule servicing, inspections and repairs to maximise vehicle availability and reduce disruption to customer deliveries.
5. Issue maintenance work orders and coordinate the technicians, replacement parts, external providers and workshop capacity required.
6. Assess driver-submitted defect reports and rank corrective work according to safety risk, compliance impact and operational priority.
7. Liaise with drivers, transport coordinators and management to make vehicles available for maintenance and return them to service promptly.
8. Track stocks of frequently required parts, tyres and service consumables and organise replenishment before shortages occur.
9. Forecast labour, component and contractor expenses and support the preparation and monitoring of fleet-maintenance budgets.
10. Manage relationships with repairers, tyre suppliers, inspectors and specialist contractors and evaluate service standards and invoiced costs.
11. Keep complete and auditable records of work orders, inspections, supplier invoices, repairs and maintenance outcomes.
12. Analyse repeat defects and vehicle downtime, report on fleet readiness and ensure maintenance planning supports safe, compliant and timely logistics services.

Relevant Qualification/Experience

1. Relevant AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma, or at least 3 years of relevant experience in place of the qualification
2. Applicants with a relevant qualification will require a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
3. Experience planning or coordinating maintenance for heavy vehicles, trailers or commercial transport equipment
4. Knowledge of preventive maintenance, vehicle inspections, repair scheduling and fleet roadworthiness requirements
5. Experience maintaining asset registers, work orders, maintenance schedules and service histories

Competence in Microsoft Office and fleet or maintenance-management software

Transport Manager (ANZSCO: 149413 - Transport Company Manager)

Full-time/Permanent

$80,000 - $90,000 (salary will be considered commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Direct metropolitan, regional and interstate transport activities across GVJ Logistics' door-to-door, express and general cargo services.
2. Develop daily and forward transport schedules using consignment volumes, service priorities, delivery windows and available fleet resources.
3. Assign appropriately licensed drivers and suitable vehicle combinations after considering cargo dimensions, weight, destination and service urgency.
4. Monitor fleet locations and shipment progress through transport-management, communication and real-time tracking platforms.
5. Liaise with customers, drivers, warehouses, depots and logistics partners to coordinate seamless collections, transfers and deliveries.
6. Respond to vehicle breakdowns, traffic or route interruptions, delivery delays and other service exceptions and arrange practical alternatives.
7. Plan and arrange the acquisition, hire and deployment of vehicles, trailers, fuel and other resources needed for transport operations.
8. Work with the Maintenance Planner to coordinate inspections and maintenance and ensure unroadworthy equipment is not dispatched.
9. Review operating expenditure across fuel, labour, fleet maintenance, subcontractors and vehicles and introduce cost and productivity improvements.
10. Implement cargo-handling procedures that support safe loading, effective restraint, secure transit and damage-free unloading.
11. Verify driver licences and work records and oversee compliance with fatigue, load-restraint, chain-of-responsibility and workplace-safety requirements.
12. Lead and develop transport personnel and provide management reports on service performance, fleet utilisation, operating costs and regulatory compliance.

Relevant Qualification/Experience
