The opportunity

We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our client on a contract basis to help design, build and deploy AI agents and AI-enabled solutions that drive efficiency, automation and better decision-making across their operations.

This role is hands-on: you'll build practical, production-ready AI systems, including LLM-powered agents, workflow automations and intelligent tools, that integrate with our existing systems and processes. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, data teams and engineering to identify high-value use cases and turn them into scalable solutions, operating with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating across teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

What you'll do

- Design, build and deploy AI agents and AI-enabled applications, developing reusable components, prompts and architectures for scalable solutions.
- Work with stakeholders to identify high-value AI opportunities,



translating business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Integrate AI solutions with internal systems, APIs and data sources, designing scalable and secure architectures.
- Ensure responsible, secure use of AI technologies, identifying and mitigating risks such as hallucinations, data leakage and misuse, with appropriate monitoring, logging and evaluation in place.
- Ensure solutions are robust, maintainable and production-ready, aligned with the client's governance, security and operational frameworks.

What you'll bring

- Experience building AI/ML or LLM-based applications in a production or near-production environment.
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred), API integration, and solid system design fundamentals.
- Experience with up-to-date AI/LLM platforms, APIs and orchestration frameworks, including retrieval-based systems (RAG) and vector databases.
- Familiarity with data platforms, pipelines and integration patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to translate ambiguous business problems into structured, scalable AI solutions.
- Good judgement on the limitations, risks and appropriate use of AI technologies.
- Clear communicator, comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable taking a solution from concept through to deployment and iteration.
