The Shire of Harvey is experiencing significant growth and transformation, with our population projected to make us the second largest Shire in the South West by 2035. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking leader to guide this next stage and help shape active, connected communities across the Shire.
Do you have;
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement skills;
- Experience managing facilities, programs, budgets and teams;
- The ability to drive community participation and positive organisational outcomes;
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in sport, recreation, community services or local government management;
then we may have the perfect role for you! Reporting to the Director Community and Lifestyle, the Manager Active Lifestyles & Recreation oversees the strategic direction, management and performance of the Shire’s sport, recreation and community activation services and facilities. Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will drive high-quality service delivery, increase community participation and support the ongoing development of key community facilities and programs.
Benefits
Up to a five-year full time contract with a cash salary of $140-$145,000 per annum with an annual review to be negotiated, dependent on experience and qualifications, and benefits such as:
- Superannuation of 12 per cent from date of commencement,
with an opportunity for the Shire to match an employee’s voluntary contribution of five or six per cent to their nominated plan.
- Conditional private use of a Shire vehicle in accordance with Shire Policy.
- A mobile phone for business use in accordance with Shire Policy.
- Professional memberships up to the value of $500 per annum.
- Professional development up to the value of $1,500 per annum.
- Full time position, located at the Leschenault Leisure Centre
- Four weeks paid annual leave.
- One rostered day off is available after every 19 days worked.
- Free membership to the Leschenault Leisure Centre, the Harvey Recreation and Cultural Centre and the Dr Peter Topham Memorial Swimming Pool.
- A medical examination and a current policy clearance will be required prior to appointment, costs to be reimbursed by the Shire.
