FindStaff is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a leading Australian engineering and industrial services organisation based in Cardiff.
Supporting customers across the mining, rail, manufacturing, food & beverage and heavy industrial sectors, this organisation specialises in rotating equipment repairs, precision engineering, reliability services and industrial maintenance solutions. This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled team delivering workshop and site-based support on critical industrial assets.
About the Role
Working within a busy workshop environment and supporting occasional site-based activities, you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and refurbishment of rotating equipment and associated mechanical components.
This role will see you working on a variety of industrial assets, including pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems and mechanical assemblies, helping to ensure equipment reliability and operational performance for customers across a range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
· Strip, assess, repair and rebuild industrial pumps and rotating equipment
· Service and overhaul industrial gearboxes, bearings, seals, shafts and associated components
· Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems
· Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis
· Operate manual lathes, milling machines and boring equipment for component repair and restoration
· Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and engineering documentation
· Complete inspections, measurements and quality assurance documentation
· Support workshop and site service activities as required
· Maintain a safe and organised work environment
Hours
6am-2:30pm Monday to Thursday
6am - 12pm on Friday
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
· Relevant Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
· Experience within heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or mining environments
· Strong experience working with pumps, gearboxes, rotating equipment or similar mechanical assets
· Proven fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
· Experience completing detailed inspection and quality assurance reports
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· A strong safety focus and ability to work effectively within a team environment
Highly Regarded
· Hydraulic fitting experience
· Dogging, Rigging, Forklift or Confined Space tickets
· Electrical Licence
· Manual Driver's Licence
· Previous field service experience
